1. Purchasing anything Disney or anime related toys and plush dolls.

2. Pigging out anywhere I go.

But it was Red Robin and how could I deny unlimited amounts of my favorite food in the world? French fries. With ranch. And Red Robin seasoning. And a huge side of mac n cheese. and coke.

And free appetizers for signing up for a Red Robin Card. Their onion rings are to die for.

Skinny Fit

I got these new Levi's 511s on the first of December and they've yet to be washed. And that's exactly how I plan to keep them -- nice and raw. I wonder if I can wait a year before washing these. My last pair of raw jeans were washed unexpectedly when I got a little too close to the water at the beach. I ended up giving them their salt water wash a few months sooner than expected but the fade on that pair turned out wonderful and hopefully this pair will as well.

The Griffith Observatory really has to be one of my favorite places in Los Angeles. On sunny days there's a beautiful view of both the park and the city. The museum is completely free except for the planetarium show which I highly recommend.

If you're ever here and are hungry, do get their macaroni and cheese.

I didn't think it could ever happen but I'm becoming completely immersed in vintage things: vintage clothes, furniture, antiques, memorabilia.

A big part of new vintage interest is because of my "try to keep it domestic" mentality. It may be costlier but it ensures quality, provides quicker turn-around periods on production and helps sustain our environment.

This is one of my favorite vintage finds, a yellow, circa early 1980's Izod cardigan.

Surprisingly many classic manga and anime related things aren't that hard to come by. This isn't one of those classics I'm talking about.

Now who remembers these? I've been very nerdy and especially nostalgic lately and that means a lot of useless eBay purchases.

This time around lead me to buying this mint condition gold Charizard card offered with a kid meal from Burger King circa 1999. It doesn't get much more nostalgic than this for me and other 90's kids definitely remember these.

When I was little I had gotten an awesome jigglypuff but have since lost it but thanks to eBay I got my charizard.

I wanted to see what all the rave was about on this out of place newcomer from the east coast, Papaya King.

I accidentally ordered the onion-dog thinking it was the chili-dog. Oh wells. The hot dogs themselves were nice and crisp, while the curly fries weren't anything out of the ordinary. The papaya drink is definitely what this place is known for being the highlight of my meal.

I'll keep it nice and local the next time I'm in the mood for hotdogs in Hollywood and purchase one from a street vendor. No hotdog beats an LA street hotdog wrapped in bacon and covered with all the fixings.

I yelped for poutine in Los Angeles and found out at a food truck serves it up around the valley.

It's website location tip was what lead us on the hunt for the truck.
"Get off on Reseda? Sure, that's not far at all!"

Little did we know we'd end up at a huge local food truck bonanza that takes place on Fridays right on Chatsworth street. Every square foot of the street was jam packed with food trucks. The event had foods of every culture. There's the all too common Korean BBQ trucks, food trucks emulating the street vendor food of Thailand and even a vendor offering Shawarma, and so much more.

With so many options to choose from it really was foodie heaven.

Ah, just the truck I was searching for. Sure there were a million other options just mere footsteps away, but what kind of person would I be if I had let all those other trucks change my original decision to find the one and only Frysmith truck.

Yes, the Frysmith truck and just like their name states, they specialize in fries. But not just the fries, it's all about what they top their fries with.

This is their most popular item of which Yamtaro went with, the Kimchi Fries topped with an amazing marinated pulled pork, cheddar cheese and of course kimchi. I stole some from Yam to try. The meat was very nicely marinated with a perfect hint of smokiness. Delish.

O-time's chili cheese fries flavored with beer and chocolate.

And I ordered the Sweet Po fries (it won me over the poutine)which consisted of sweet potato fries of course, marinated chicken and topped with heaping amounts of cheese and peanuts. This dish was pretty good but I didn't get the sweetness from the fries that I was hoping to get and the chicken along with the sauce made the whole thing quite salty. I was gulping down my Gatorade just to get over all the saltiness. I really wished I had ordered the kimchi fries like Yamtaro did.

Frysmith's fries were more than just filling, we were stuffed. It was just like they said, they really do serve "fries that eat as a meal."

If you're a french fry fiend like myself give Frysmith a shot.

In Greco-Roman mythology, fauns/satyrs were creatures with the upper bodies of men while having the lower portions, horns and ears of a goat. They are associated with overindulging in many things such as music, food and wine and debauchery. In a sense they can be considered as the original party animals. And not just because they were actually part animal.

We're similar to them. Sort of. Except mostly when involved with food. Okay just food.

What I'm getting at is that the team and I are working on a new project called Fat Kid Fat Club. Yup you read that right. FAT KID FIGHT CLUB.
We're hoping we can make it the ultimate food-based media project while going for that whole snobby, anonymous, foodie, cool guy blog, complete with youtube, flickr, and all those other awesome ones you can't make it without.

It gets harder and harder to keep in touch with all of your friends as you grow older. People move away, they grow apart and simply put, life happens.

Reading that last sentence gives me the impression that I'm ancient and my life is nearing it's end but truth is I'm only twenty. Either way I'm glad I managed to have dinner with quite a few my friends recently.

Kyle is moving to Orange County and although it's not that big of a deal, his last request was to have everyone enjoy some Korean kalbi. Good call, Kyle.

Los Angeles styled Korean Kalbi is one reason why I love LA so much. There's such a great food loving community and there's just food of every sort out here.

Do you know those moments when something might have been considered a great moment? Or perhaps when a fateful point of time if caught on film would be seen as monumental? Well this was one of those what if moments that was all too soon already ruined before it even had a chance to take its first breath.

Yup, get ready for it. It's going to be another foodie post.

Pillipe's located in what is now LA's China Town is a working man's institution. They serve up good, classic, hearty food served on paper plates. Just walk up to the counter in one of the store's many lines with cash in hand because this place doesn't accept card, tell the probably not going to be smiling lady behind the counter what you want and like clockwork, less than a minute later she's back with a tray of food along with your change.

This is true Americana food consisting of things like cole slaw, potato salad, greens, fresh pie, and of course what they're known for, their French dipped sandwiches

Pickled eggs. I was curious but listened to my grumbly tummy and chose not to be too adventurous. We were on a bit of a time constraint and everything had to be done hurriedly as we made a mad dash around the county.

Double dipped, their uber sweet cole slaw, and mac salad of course paired with a Dr. Pepper. Now he's a real doctor.

Everyone around me lately has pulled the "beer goes really well with my food" mumbo jumbo. Too many calories. I don't want a beer belly by my early twenties, thank you.

That's my friend O-time enjoying the also famous spicy mustard here. It tastes far too similar to wasabi and I don't much care for wasabi. It certainly does the trick when you want to play a prank or want to clear your sinuses though. Both the mustard and wasabi that is.

Now chug those beers and lets speed off to the SGV. Later Phiwippe's.

With all the controversy behind foreign sweatshops and their neglect of basic human rights, what better option would there be than to shop more for domestically produced goods? Butter yet, shopping for recycled clothing is always a great option. And by that I mean vintage. Most clothes up until the 80's were never imported but produced right here at home. Being produced domestically ensures quality control helps eliminate foreign sweatshops.

Not only does buying that vintage band shirt from the 80's you've been eying for oh-so long help you feel as if you were actually there during that time period, you'll be happy knowing you're not a poser who bought a reprint of that shirt at the local Hot Topic store. Even though those decade old sweat stains don't belong to you, you'll definitely feel like you own a true part of history.

Okay I'm going too far off topic.

So there, buying vintage clothing gives you a feeling of nostaliga, the experience of quality made, often domestically produced goods and some extra karma points you can cash in for later.

Vintage dresses are the best. This way Paige can wear a dress a possibly very classy crack wench once wore to a millionaire, astronaut, land-owner ball.

However this is my idea of vintage... Wearing decade-old tees and jeans don't fit too well with me. Sorry about it. I'd much rather dig through piles of gas masks and surplus field-jackets, now that I"ll wear.

Undetermined Locale

Hidden amongst the hills, in a small valley, known only to locals is an area called Scary Dairy. Rumors hold this place may have been a slaughter house, a dairy farm, and even a base of operations for a psycho alien serial killer escapee. Apparently. That's just what I've heard.

With all the hearsay aside,this plot of land now belongs to a state university which does allow hikers during regular daytime hours. Reaching Scary Dairy involves locating an easily accessible short hike, then passing an RC flight center on a semi-paved road and it then located right behind the bend. Once finally at the compound you'll spot eerie remnants of buildings, skeletal innards, wooden beams and barren steel and cement foundations.

Back at Establos.

This may be considered another local landmark if I do say so myself. Due to my constant perusing of the local library I found out this is one of the oldest buildings in the city, although I'm certain it's seen many remodelings.

I swear Mexican food joints just serve these alongside their food as pranks to non-suspecting eaters.

I wished I had known the Geffen Contemporary was located in Little Tokyo. That way, I wouldn't have parked over by the Disney Concert Hall. Oh well now I finally realize how close the two are to one another.

I finally got a chance to visit MOCA's Art in the Streets gallery. The show is about graffiti culture, it's diverse influences, and the direction street art is headed to in the future.
The main reason this show has gathered so much support thus far is due to the amazing amounts of art contributed by many renown artists along the likes of: Sheperd Fairey (of course he's the first mentioned), Os Gemeos, one of my top artists Banksy, and many, many more important street art figures.

It may have been in bad taste but I can now say I've touched a Banksy piece.

It's just natural for people to want to leave their mark on the world whether it be being remembered for the character, their accomplishments, or in this case the scribbles left on the wall. It's human. Art in the Streets has a wonderful array of artists each representing the many diverse aspects of street art. This show is a definite must-see.

Cakes, they're fancy, they look expensive and they sometimes they even have fresh fruit on them. So they're probs tasty. (Aw gawd, still talking about food.)

This arcade is awesome. It's so reminiscent of classic 90's and Japanese styled arcades with about a good 90% of their machines consisting of Street Fighter.

The only thing about playing in these kind of places is you better be good. If you aren't, expect at .5 seconds after you sliding that quarter into the machine that a person particularly of Asian descent to walk up to you, slide in their own quarter and annihilate you within 30 seconds, thus taking over your machine making you shame faced.

The other day I became an intern's intern at an improv company, so basically the lowest of the low.

But before that I took advantage of being in LA and visited the other half of one of my favorite boutique stores, the other one being located in down town.

With cool decor, a good amount of vintage clothing, their own signature line of clothing and a plethora of accessories, this is now one of my favorite places to shop.

With a dangerous street photography/driving combination, we make it over to the Comedy Sportz office and theater.

"It's not comedy about sports, it's comedy played as a sport!"

The intern being interny with me at my own little desk, the "kids table."

Sitting there made me remember back to when I badly dreamt of having an office building of my own. Oh wait, I still do.

In my boredom I wandered the neighborhood venturing into the Toy Art Gallery right next door.

It was a nice, quaint little showroom full of hand-made resin goodies from around the world.

I enjoy anything with jack o'lantern heads.

I couldn't leave empty-handed so I ended up back at my desk with a Droplet.

My first collectible toy! I sure hope this doesn't become a habit for me.

Paige and I also worked concessions. "Cause you know, that's how you get your foot in the door for your career, selling snacks and expensive (yet awesome) Voss bottles.

Someone got a hold of my camera while I was away making a food run. She thinks she's so cool with her Tory Burch flats.

(I keep getting caught off guard when I walk into an American styled restaurant expecting there to be anything but Asians behind the counter only to be surprised that there are in fact Asians behind the counter).

And after that, it was time to go catch the 9pm show about Transformers and MS.

I had a lot of fun on my day of being an intern's intern at Comedy Sportz. I recommend going to a show for anyone looking looking for a good time, something different, and an overall good laugh.

These glow sticks have been sitting around collecting dust so I decided it was finally time to put them to good use. And no not raving.

So we grabbed the camera and a tripod and got to business.

In the dead of night when everyone is asleep and there's no one else on the street, a security car just HAS to drive by on my first test shot. They may have been annoying but they added a cool light effect.

Turns out the glow sticks weren't bright enough. Next time I'll just have to invest in some LEDs.

Not having many obligations to pay attention to, life is going in a nice slow pace at the moment. It's like a nice warm dream where there's a field full of edible Willy Wonka styled flowers and the river flows with Hawaiian Punch. It feels awesome. Anyways!

Paint shopping for future projects. The Color Place brand now uses the weirdest cans. They feel more like hair spray cans.

June Again

June Gloom sounded too played out and boring of a title so I somehow managed another mind-blowing, breath-taking one.

But it's true and although it's not officially the start of summer the sky's been too gloomy for my tastes. I'm appreciating it not reaching sweltering temperatures in my room at night but I NEED SOME SUN! I mean how else am I going to be encouraged enough to drag my butt out on the 30 minute drive to the beach?

All I want to do this summer is lounge about somewhere in LA or along the PCH socializing, drawing, and take pictures all the while enjoying a ton of boba drinks and these.

So cheer the heck up summer and let me go enjoy you!

I have to apologize in advance for the lack of visual material this time around. My camera is "misplaced" at the moment meaning I don't have much to work with in terms of photography. It's honestly tragic and I can't seem to get over it. But alas...

Le sigh.

Last summer was full of G6's, wedding dresses, party rocking and hyper crushing. There were laughter, moments, memories, and epiphanies. Summer 2011 left me all-around refreshed and renewed with the feeling that the world wasn't as big and scary a place as I originally thought and that I could take it on, on the only condition that I never gave up or let anything ever get in the way of my dreams.

I had adventures, I learned more about the world and I met people, one very special person in particular, all of which shaped me into the person I am sitting here typing this very blog post today. This summer, already getting off to a good start seems just as promising. It's embarrassing to say but I haven't left the state of California in quite sometime, let alone mainland US. This was my first real visit into the state of Arizona.

AZ was dry, it was hot, there was no grass, and lawns were full of pebbles. There were large cacti everywhere welcoming to me go hug them and I was constantly thinking about popsicles. And you know what? I loved every moment of it.

With Valentines day on the 14th, February has got to be the squishiest month of the year, unless you're single and you've readily planned on enjoying your Single Awareness Day (SAD) instead, enjoying a nice pint of rocky road Star Wars Episode II The Clone Wars via Netflix on the couch. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Just have fun cuddling that dragon pillow pet or whatever it is they cuddle with. Have fun single people. Sorry about it.

On the other hand if you're anything like me, you've have been bombarded with a constant wave of V-day related advertisements. Surely one of Hallmark's most anticipated holidays, Valentine's Day has all those flower and candy companies vying for every last man's attention. Basically there's no way you'd casually not notice, try as you might forget that that ~~fearful~~ ~~inevitable~~ ~~stressing~~ oh-so much anticipated holiday is right around the corner. They also gradually instill that you'd better get off your butt and plan something or you're going to have a weally gwumpy misses.

But a day solely dedicated to celebrating your love and enjoying each others' company ? I'm all for it. But dedicating just a day to show her how much you love her just seems too short, but hey, there's nothing wrong like going about every day like it IS Valentine's Day.

Good thing the weather was perfect that Valentine's Day weekend for our awesome adventures.

Our little girl's all safe ready for the trip, accompanied with sketch pads and a bag of chips.

Surprise drives full of "where are we going?" and "are we there yet?"

We ended up in some 16th century quaint little town known as Solvang. We just call it Danish Town, or that place with the cute sock shop.

It can be embarrassing attempting to order someting when you don't know how to pronounce it. "I'll have the... rasberry. thing." These are really awesome though. Some trio of men to the side of us had these before their actual lunch consisting of brats and wieners and other meat products. Weird.

This year belongs to the rabbit, the fourth animal of the Chinese zodiac.

Being a Vietnamese American, it's tradition that we visit Little Saigon several times a year, especially during Tet, or Vietnam's new year.

Being a new year, we kept our karma in check from the get-go and dined at a Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant.

Weird Winter Weather

I met with a studious Paige at Starbucks on a beautiful sunny day. Paige says: It was indeed sunny. And we were ready to take advantage of OUR perfect weather.

Paige says: Being self-declared fashionistas, we wanted to reveal to the world our day-to-day outfit choices, from top to bottom. Here, I'm wearing a neon pink tank and cyan-colored cardigan, both from J. Crew. Thanks to the summer weather, I'm also donning my favorite short shorts.

Paige says: Brian's super cute/super soft sweater is a gift from me! He looks like the cutest smurf ever.

We differ slightly on footwear choice. Paige says: These gladiator sandals were delivered to me by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen themselves (well, kind of).

Slightly. Paige says: I like the color of Brian's cute little Nikes. He thinks he's The Sneaker Master.

Paige says: Brian got me this faaaabulous Betsey Johnson charm necklace. The Tinkerbell charm (from Disneyland, bitches) adds a touch of magic.

Yes, vegetarian. It may look like your average sweet and sour chicken but is actually heavily battered and deep fried mushrooms covered in a delicious orange glaze.

I love eating with her. She always keeps my insides so pure and clean.

Again, this isn't as it appears. The "meat" in this dish is soy protein.

We always leave this friendly little restaurant beyond satisfied, and happy with the knowledge that no poor little piggies died for us. It's good karma.

I'm looking forward to the next tree months with my little monster Paige.

Resolutions

My significant other Paige and I can relate. We too created a short list of unlikely resolutions that we will ultimately fail at as well. With that said, here's our pathetic list.

1. Work on our in-car (or general) singing. "I fuckin' need you more than ever." We're pretty good already, but we need to make our rendition of the Pokemon theme absolutely perfect.

2. Get better at receiving compliments instead of being suspicious of the complimenter. Not everyone who tells us that they like our shoes or sweater has malicious intentions. Because I take ever compliment to be sarcastic, I end up giving an unappreciative thank you. P thinks a little enthusiasm, like I've never heard a compliment before in my entire life, would be nicer.

3. Quit smoking. JK. We don't smoke.

4, We want to watch more TV. Paige would like to watch more reruns of her favorite shows

5. Don't trust dirty hipsters on such things as what movies to see, or what events to attend.

6. Eat less dino nuggets. That's how they trick kids into eating meat. By shaping them like dinosaurs. They don't need to be tricked, because they LOVE meat.

7. Be less snobby. It's true. Our knowledge far exceeds that of most people, ergo we can be quite a snobby couple at times. And during these times, we tend to lash out at less intelligent, poorly-dressed uggos. We need to learn to be more willing to help the seemingly hopeless instead of turning our (far superior) backs on them.

8. Wear more colors. I, Brian D. Luu, am currently sitting here wearing a black v-neck and black boots. This means that I am unadventurous and prone to living a bland, routine life. "Guys like uniformity," I protest, but P thinks I would be happier and more well-rounded if I wore a little more color. I need to listen to the Spice Girls when they tell me to spice up my life, says P.

9. Be more crafty. It seems like a productive way to spend our time because there will actually be evidence of our hard work. It doesn't even matter if what we make looks like crap because at least we created something together. Our first completed project? Inserting a crushed up rose (that I brought to P) into a heart-shaped jar.

Nine is enough.

Childish as they may be, I can now check these two things off my bucket list.

1. Throw a pair of shoes into a great old tree.

A new park in my city has an epic-sized tree located towards the center of it. The first thought I had when I first found this tree, one foggy night spent exploring with friends, was that I just had to throw a pair of shoes into this epic tree.

and numero dos, have a much needed one on one sit-down with some office equipment and/or large electronic, etc. Oh, and grab some friends along with you so as to not look too weird (not to mention it's a great group activity). Suspicious looking activity aside, this was such a great moment and an even greater way to see some friends off.

The best part of this is when Octavio chooses to end the beat-down by picking up a large chunk of the computer components, throws it in the air, and takes full-swing hitting it with the bat sending it out for a home-run, topping off an already excellent moment.

Today’s post title was inspired by an awful yet catchy (awfully catchy?) 2002 rap song of which went a little something like this:
"Can't pay my reeeeeent, cause all my money's speeeeeeeent
but thats OKAAAY, cause I'm still flyyyyyy"
or something of the sort.

So now that I've set the mood, I'm here today to give you some men's fashion pointers for the fall season. For as the weather cools down more and more from the "it's kinda chilly out here, dude" to the eventual "I’m freezing my ass off," naturally being the sane person you are, you're going to opt for putting more clothes on. While you're at it why not get fresh and put some thought in what you’re actually going to wear, because well, let’s face it. We’re more or less pretentious materialistic bastards and your “materials” will affect people’s opinions of you or at the least make you feel better than others, boost confidence, blah blah blah and so forth.

Rather than ranting on about this season’s top trends, I’ve instead taken the liberty to compose a list of my favorite looks for the cooler seasons. I’m a little behind myself on updating my wardrobe but these are definitely pointers that I myself plan on following through on because, hey, I come from that "practice what you preach" school of thought. This then makes this list more or less a wish list, or as I would say, a must-cop list.

Now albeit all the items on this list may not be the cheapest, but can you really afford NOT to look your freshest? Where's all that money you’re saving going to go to anyways? A rainy day fund, you say… That’s bullshit. If you end up on the street, at the very least, you’ll still be looking “fly like a g6.” And hell, you may finally attract that significant other you’ve been eying up from across the room in your bi-weekly 9am Intro to Poli. Sci. class. (OK no, go ahead and break the piggy bank if you want but don’t go accessing emergency funds just because B-ri said so).

With that said, here’s my list of ideas regarding fall fashion.

1. Outerwear
The all too typical hoodie. If you plan on going in that direction, at least go at it with style. Don't grab a run-of-the-mill fleece hoodie. Make sure it’s well fitted and has those neato extra cut and sew features. I for one enjoy a nice thick heavy outerwear piece when it comes to cooler weather.

Right now I'm feeling denim tops. For that I recommend a heavy denim fused hoodie. For example, the Dean biker jacket by Orisue or the Nosebreakers by IMKing. These jackets definitely compliment your form giving you broader shoulders and just adding to your overall badassery.

2. Bottoms
Dark raw indigo with that wax touch is more popular than ever but if you've been doing that for a season too many, try going for black waxed denim. Its almost similar to indigo but doesn't have as much a blue tint and will not fade nor bleed as easily.

3. Footwear
As I've mentioned before, I can't stand the sight of men trotting around in flip flops as if they were having a beach date. Hopefully all those bros I saw at work stocking up on those flippy-floppies were just purchasing them to be penny-wise in preparing for next summer rather than planning on wearing them year-round. Sandals are not real shoes. Don't do it.

You can't ever go wrong with a decent pair of canvas shoes such as the all time favorite, Chuck Taylors. (I'm having recurring flashbacks of my youth to a time wherein I had to walk home from school on a rainy day and my canvas shoes were drenched.) Converses/Vans are the typical go to shoe for many but they don't do much in protecting your feet from colder weather. I recommend getting your grown man on and invest in a pair of leather, not suede boots. These boots from Red Wings will set you straight.

These classy shoes compliment your heavy outerwear pieces perfectly while simultaneously protecting your feet.

4. Shades
Ditching my brighter obnoxious pair of sunglasses, I suggest getting a pair of large black wayfarer styled sunglasses such as these. I also suggest not spending to much on a pair of shades. The perfect shades for this being some generic wayfarers you'd find at any chic clothing store. Go ahead and buy them two or so at a time.

Got too drunk at a party and broke them falling onto the cement? Lost them in a tussle at a local concert? No biggie, they were only $10. Just go to your car and grab another pair from your glove compartment and carry on with what you were doing prior.

Black shades compliment a dark fall outfit perfectly. Wear them while sipping your favorite drink loitering outside of your favorite food joint. If you're enough of a snob you could also wear them to the club.

5. Accessorize.
Dont forget to add some scarves, gloves, and watches into the mix.

It was a necessity that I obliged with number two of my list this time.

Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk or ca phe sua da.
This is definitely the coffee I grew up with coming from an Asian background. This coffee is particularly strong, I liken it to a "triple shot" espresso. So if you ever need a strong pick-me-up, find a place that sells this stuff. It'll most definitely give you a jump start.

AZ tales

I've known Eric here since the 6th grade. He's an 805 local but is currently attending some artsy school some 5 minutes away from ASU in Tempe, Arizona but decided to visit for the Labor Day weekend.

Arizona seems to have gotten the better of him. It was only 7:30pm and he was complaining about how cold it was.

Knowing Eric, he always has hilarious stories to tell and this time was no different. This time around his stories are full of on-goings about his new life in Arizona given hes only lived in their for some 6 months now. Stories of Arizona life, police/SB1070, traffic cameras & gorilla masks, bros, parties, and his new-found marijuana affliction were some topics covered.

After enough discussion and running into every Camarillo person we knew outside of Starbucks it was decided we end the night at a Camarillo staple, Rolling Pin Donuts. It's also down the street from Eric's house. Unfortunately, on late nights this place has gotten more populated than ever by the bored children of the local populace. It's kind of like the burger joint in Grease. Now I understand how the older generation feels when they see a bunch of young upstarts ruin their traditions.

Jelly doughnuts are the only doughnuts.

Fast forward some 2 hours in the car and the group and I end up in Costa Mesa, Orange County for a warehouse sale. What's worse is that we left at 1 in the morning and the sale doesn't even begin until 10 am.

Yes, I'm just that dedicated in getting my hands on my favorite clothing brands.

I want to say this day reminded me of classic 1990s cartoons such as The Magic School Bus, or Hamtaro (2000) when all the children/hamsters had an adventure just by exploring the backyard or some other equally minute location. (In some episodes of The Magic School Bus, the enitire class would shrink down to microscopic sizes and explore the human body, while in Hamtaro, almost every character is obviously a hamster and so exploring the second story of a house is a perilous journey in and of itself.)

This is because that's exactly what some friends and I did, explore a backyard. Well you see, after months of hearsay and said planning of having a classy dinner cooked up by good friend, Beppu, we finally had one.

The food was great and while eating, random bursts of "you didn't think I could cook?!" kept coming out of Beppu's mouth. After all that we were feeling quite frisky and decided a tour of the house was in order, since it was (for the most part) a first for all of us to be inside his house. After seeing the house and playing with his cats, the focus soon lead to his backyard.

Solely based on how Beppu's house appears from the front, I would've never guessed that his backyard was so large. I believed the term "like a football field" was used several times.

All that aside, here's a snippet of our backyard adventure.

Given we may have had far too much energy left or perhaps we all felt the night was young, we wanted more adventure. A favorite past time of ours is geocaching (Google it if you have no idea of what I'm speaking of.) and that's what was decided upon to do. TOTES better than going on a long drive over to Pomona.

He was on a role. First cooking an awesome dinner, then finding the first geocache.

What did we get?

This one was quite unique. The baseball WAS the sign-in log.

So just as I'm dropping people off, we spot this large traffic cone. And what was our first reaction? Why, stealing it, of course. Their reason being they can now reserve their own parking spots whenever they please. Er, good luck with that guys.

Being that annoying person in the group who feels the need to take pictures of any and everything, I have accumulated a large sum of pictures over the years. These photos archive everything from what I ate on a particular day all the way up to special moments involving friends and family, whether it be those wild and wacky adventures, or just those hilarious/embarrassing moments some of us would rather not retell, and everything in between.

Currently in a nostalgic mind-state, I want to share just a few photos that currently stick out to me for some reason or another. These aren't the greatest photos (not that mine usually are) and they're completely random, but I feel meaning in them. But really, I can't stress enough how random they are.

Having no work and or class on this Thursday means me having to go on a nature hike instead. Naturally.

Frolicking in a stream? Typical.

Cliff diving? Well, I should have known that this was what I signed up for when agreeing to hike with "crazy white folks." This is normally when I'd whisper to myself "never look back" repeatedly, and eventually take the dive.

Summer, don't end; I haven't had my full use of you yet.

I had an interesting morning by the Happiest Place on Earth.

The Happy wasn't rubbing off on me any.

I suppose I could have been in a better mood given the festivities.

Now I don't "typically" advocate binge drinking, but for the summer I recommend grabbing your favorite fruity boba drinks, mix in a little vodka (in this case, Hpnotiq) and drink them with a good friend, "slut", and or "ho" on a warm summer night. It makes for a nice relaxed evening.

Drinking outdoors completely optional, but adds to the fun.

Spiked peach tasted great, I wonder what flavor I should try next time.
